We are seeking a Sr. Accountant who will be responsible for day-to-day accounting, financial reporting, and technical accounting activities for the sports betting and online casino businesses. In this role, the individual will be a key contributor in the monthly accounting close process, assist in technical accounting and financial reporting projects, and support the continuous improvement of processes and growth of each business. Responsibilities

The following and other duties may be assigned as necessary:

 

  • Support the accounting and reporting functions of online sports betting and online casino operations.
  • Post journal entries to record business transactions.
  • Prepare monthly account reconciliations to validate the completeness and accuracy of GL account balances.
  • Support the preparation of financial statements and related disclosures.
  • Coordinate requests with internal and external auditors
  • Develop and maintain knowledge and understanding of rules and regulations as promulgated by, among other governing bodies, FASB generally accepted accounting principles, the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Internal Revenue Service, state departments of revenue, and state gaming commissions
  • Support internal control and process improvement projects
  • Maintain strict confidentiality in all departmental and company matters.
  • Comply with all accounting and financial reporting internal controls as required by internal policy
  • Enthusiastically support, actively promote, and demonstrate superior customer service in accordance with department and company standards and programs.
  • Assist with other ad hoc accounting and finance projects as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferred ­­­­­­­Accounting; 3-5 years of Accounting experience.
  • CPA preferred
  • Must have the ability to understand and apply basic concepts of US GAAP
  • Must have the ability to present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and employees.
  • Must have the ability to perform statistical analyses.
  • Must have the ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.
  • Must have the ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.
  • Must have the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations.
  • Intermediate computer knowledge; MS Office.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in English may also be required.

 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Position may require licensing in applicable states that PI operates.  If so, you must qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state and local regulations.
