Penn Game Studios (PGS) is searching for an experienced, enthusiastic, Senior UI Artist to join the PGS team. PGS is a subsidiary of Penn Interactive (PI), an interactive gaming company headquartered in Philadelphia, PA. PI is the digital arm of Penn National Gaming (NASDAQ: PENN), the largest regional casino operator in the U.S.


The PI mission is to challenge the norms of the gaming industry by building an immersive interactive gaming experience that is responsible, innovative, and fun. The Senior UI Artist role will report to the Sr Art Manager. It will be responsible for setting standards, managing and working with the UX and UI teams to provide UI art support across the games being developed by Penn Game Studios.

Your daily responsibilities include

The PGS Senior UI Artist is responsible for working with the PGS Sr. Art Manager on resource planning and establishing and maintaining high UI standards across all PGS products. The position works with the UI team to provide the following support for PGS game development:

  • Assemble technical and functional references and conduct competitor analysis.
  • Create and maintain UI style guides and best practices documentation.
  • Participate in reviews of both internally and externally produced games to ensure they maintain UX standards and practices.
  • In coordination with the Art Director, establish ui solutions consistent with game designs and overall visual themes.
  • Create look and feel mockups.
  • Create and export final UI and 2D assets from Photoshop or Illustrator for use in-engine.
  • Work with client engineers to ensure that UI assets are technically correct and work as expected in the engine.
  • Contribute design polish and feedback through the course of development.


  • Competence in Photoshop, Illustrator and other standard industry UI tools.
  • Willingness to adapt to new tools and workflows to improve UI process and standards.
  • A portfolio showing your UI work.
  • 6+ years of experience as a UI artist or Lead in the gaming industry.
  • Ability to work during normal ET business hours 9a-5p (UTC−05:00).
  • Experience with casino games and working with Phaser, Babylon or other Javascript engines are a plus

Gaming License 

  • Position may require licensing in applicable states that PI operates. If so, you must qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state and local regulations.
