Penn Interactive (PI) is a real-money interactive gaming company headquartered in Philadelphia, P.A.. As the digital arm of Penn National Gaming (NASDAQ: PENN), the largest regional casino operator in the U.S., we are poised for fast-paced growth in the sports betting and online casino space and are looking for a Jira Administrator to join our expanding Barstool Sportsbook team!


The Jira Administrator will own and support Jira and Confluence while helping the team deliver the best solutions using the latest Agile methodologies. This role will support the overall Jira administration across the org, and will also be the go-to person for any Jira issues, enhancements, and best practice questions. This role analyzes the need\issue, defines the best solution, and facilitates the successful implementation of complex solutions through hands-on work, interfacing with all appropriate resources and creating other materials to support the process.


Your daily responsibilities include

  • JIRA/Confluence setup that aligns with Agile best practices
  • Conduct user-training and help sessions for new and existing custom features and implementations
  • Manage system access and permissions configurations to ensure compliance and enforce best practices
  • Support tasks such as maintenance, troubleshooting, performance tuning, evaluating new plug-ins and Jira upgrades
  • Monitor Atlassian health status, and keep everyone informed of any outages or performance issues
  • Clean up stale/unused workflows, issue types, projects, dashboards, etc
  • Configure, roll out, and maintain multiple Jira projects, workflows, schemes, project and portfolio settings, user groups, roles, and reports
  • Implement Jira automation rules to support seamless process creation
  • Create, manage and support for leveraging Atlassian REST/automation for users to automate manual processes, implement business processes and extract data for reporting and analytics purposes
  • Create Jira-based reports, dashboards and planning views based on different user requirements, and provide stakeholders with actionable project metrics and status reports


  • 2-4 years of previous experience in a fast-paced Agile environment
  • Advanced knowledge of the software development lifecycle
  • Experience documenting requirements artifacts, performing impact analysis, and rolling out process changes
  • Strong communication skills and enthusiasm to help others
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience customizing Jira projects with various schemes, complex workflows, screen schemes, permission schemes and notification schemes
  • Ability to write custom JQL
  • Ability to write scripts to automate and customize Jira
