Overview

Penn Game Studios (PGS) is searching for an experienced, enthusiastic, Senior Tech Artist to join the PGS team.  PGS is a subsidiary of Penn Interactive (PI), an interactive gaming company headquartered in Philadelphia, PA. PI is the digital arm of Penn National Gaming (NASDAQ: PENN), the largest regional casino operator in the U.S.

The Senior Tech Artist role will report to the Sr Art Manager. It will be responsible for setting standards, managing and working with the Art and Client Engineering teams to provide technical tool, pipeline, and organizational support across the games being developed by Penn Game Studios.

Your daily responsibilities include

The PGS Senior Tech Artist is responsible for establishing efficient, leading edge, artist-friendly tech, tools and processes for creating, iterating on and organizing art assets and systems.  The role works with the art team and the client engineering team as well as manages and mentors other tech artists to maintain high tech art standards across all PGS products.  Responsibilities include:

  • Help review and provide technical feedback and support for art assets and art creation and iteration processes across PGS games.
  • Research and develop technical tools to improve art development and iteration.
  • Establish efficient, artist-friendly art pipelines between art creation tools and development engines and support artists and client engineers in their use.
  • Ensure that final art presents as intended visually in engine and in terms of performance, including framerate and data footprint.
  • Maintain and enforce production standards including asset naming conventions, organization and archiving.
  • Develop technical content and systems including rigs, effects and physics.
  • Research and implement shaders, lighting and rendering solutions.
  • Maintain technical art, performance and pipeline documentation.

Qualifications

  • Competence with C#, JavaScript, C/C++, Python
  • Familiarity with Unity and JS Engines
  • Familiarity with rendering and post-effects, rigging, physics and shaders.
  • Willingness to adapt to new tools and workflows to improve process and standards.
  • A portfolio showing your tech art work.
  • 6+ years of experience as a Tech Artist in the gaming industry.
  • Ability to work during normal ET business hours 9a-5p (UTC−05:00).
  • Experience with casino and/or mobile games is a plus.

GAMING LICENSE

This position may require licensing in applicable states that PI operates in.  If so, you must qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state and local regulations.
