The Human Resources Business Partner manages and partners with various teams to assist with Employee Relations issues, benefits policies and procedures, performance improvement conversations, and other policy related questions or concerns.  The HRBP will work with the head of the HR team to identify process improvements, mitigate risks to the business, and work on key projects to help ensure that all team members are abiding by the code of conduct.

Your daily responsibilities include

The following and other duties may be assigned as necessary:

  • Develops and maintains productive, informative, and respectful relationships that support achievement of business focused results for Penn Interactive.
  • Serves as a business partner to business units. Understands the organizational structure; develops and maintains knowledge of the business unit needs; and, provides HR support to team members at all levels.
  • Identifies and develops strategies with the entire People & Culture Team that help to reduce turnover and increase engagement
  • Manages and resolves team member issues or concerns. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations in cases of grievances, harassment, employee concerns or EEOC issues.
  • Maintains in depth knowledge of legal requirements and HR policies and program related to day-to-day management of employees to d ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Work with Compliance to ensure licensing requirements for all applicable employees are met. Understand, maintain and implement state gaming application processes associated with state gaming board requirements.
  • Partners with the People & Culture team to execute on the department's strategy and goals
  • Analyzes data and results from programs and initiatives and provides recommendations to increase retention.
  • Supports the internal and external recruitment efforts by partnering with the Talent Acquisition team to assist with offer letters, onboarding, and interviewing as needed.
  • Tracks KPIs and market trends to ensure that we are staying competitive within the market with HR related policies and procedures.
  • Review timesheets, PTO/FTO requests, and prepare for payroll processing bi-weekly.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality in all departmental and company matters.

  • Five or more years’ experience as a Human Resources Generalist or five or more years’ experience in at least two Human Resources specially areas (including, but not limited to, recruitment, employee relations, benefits, compensation, and training); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • PHR or SPHR professional certification preferred.
  • Must be flexible and adaptable and be a support for various business areas
  • Must be data focused and driven
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Docs, especially Sheets and Excel. Knowledge of iCIMS, Ultipro and Kronos is desired.
  • Must have excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Must have the ability to interact with staff and colleagues and resolve problems and conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
  • Demonstrated intermediate level of competence in the areas of leadership, collaborative and service orientation, organizational insight, strategic perspective, change management, diagnostic insight, broad HR knowledge, coaching and counseling collaboration, and influence..

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in English may also be required.


Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Position requires licensing in applicable states that PI operates, which is subject to change.

This position is expected to travel 10% of the time.
